Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2025
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using PayLink at paylink.appsage.co.uk ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
PayLink is a payment link generation service that allows users to create shareable links for requesting payments. PayLink does not process payments directly — we provide a platform for creating and sharing payment request pages. Actual payments are made through third-party payment methods (such as bank transfers or PayPal) as specified by the link creator.
3. User Accounts and Subscriptions
3.1 Free Service
Basic use of PayLink is free and does not require account registration. Links created without a subscription are subject to PayLink branding.
3.2 Pro Subscription
Pro subscriptions are available for enhanced features including removal of branding and custom link slugs. Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and access will continue until the end of your current billing period.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use PayLink to:
- Request payments for illegal goods or services
- Commit fraud or deceive payment recipients
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Collect payments for goods or services you cannot or do not intend to provide
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
- Transmit malware, spam, or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use the Service for money laundering or terrorist financing
We reserve the right to remove any payment links that violate these terms and to suspend or terminate accounts engaged in prohibited activities.
5. Payment Processing
PayLink is not a payment processor. We do not handle, store, or process actual payments between you and your payers. Payment information you include in your links (such as bank account details) is displayed to payers for them to make payments directly to you through their own banking or payment services.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any payment information you provide is accurate and for resolving any disputes with payers regarding payments.
6. Content Ownership
6.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you create (payment descriptions, business names, etc.). By creating payment links, you grant us a license to display this content to anyone who accesses your payment link.
6.2 Our Content
The PayLink service, including its design, functionality, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our service without permission.
7. Privacy
Your use of PayLink is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
PayLink is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We make no warranties regarding the reliability of any payment information displayed on payment links or the completion of any payments between users and their payers.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PayLink and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of profits or revenue
- Loss of data
- Failed or delayed payments
- Disputes between users and payers
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your content
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PayLink and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
11. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
12. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
